Knox Update

The latest Knox Update is now posted at
http://www.FirearmsCoalition.org. Readers from Iowa should pay special
attention as there is information about events in the Iowa legislature
used as an example in this piece.

  Training Politicians

The Republican Party lost big in 2006 and lost even bigger in 2008.
They didn't lose because of opposition to the war in Iraq. They didn't
lose because of the floundering economy. They didn't even lose because
of a "culture of corruption." Those were symptoms and side issues. The
reason Republicans lost, and continue to lose, is because they have
failed to keep their promises, live up to their stated beliefs, and they
have provided little reason to their base to get excited about keeping
them in office... Read more here. <mailto:>

*Also in the News:*
Democrat Governor Tim Kaine has shafted Virginia gunowners again by
vetoing three pro-rights bills. The legislature will decide whether to
override the governor's vetoes in a few days so action is needed right
away to push Senators to vote right on these bills. Virginians can
easily send an automatic e-mail through the Virginia Citizens Defense
League web site at http://www.VCDL.org.

Maryland also has some important legislation teetering on the edge
of a knife. One Senator - Frosh (D-Montgomery County) has locked up an
important civil liability exemption bill for the past several years -
even though the legislation has passed overwhelmingly out of the House.
Perhaps the Fact that Senator Frosh is a civil litigator and defense
attorney is part of the problem. More information is available at:
